Loop Making is Like Love Making
[Wanted to post as part of the ongoing chaos happening at RagamuffinSoul.com]
So this past Sunday we had a different element in our worship experience. Aaron Robertson, one of our keys players, and loop-making-extrordanair, created a sample of Hillsong’s tune “To Know Your Name.” He then layered parts live as the song progressed and had a smokin’ keys solo. yes. smokin’. He played, I sang, and the we had names of God scrolling behind us on the screens the whole time. It was a cool way to illustrate the theme our of series Small Is the New Big. Always a great idea to try new ways of creating unique experiences with God. Check out part of Aaron’s loop (minus vocals and his live elements).

that’s freakin awesome… amazing!
[...] This post got me going again. The guys over at Elevation put this loop together based off of United’s “To Know Your Name” – an amazing song, see below. [...]

Killer Loop…seriously. No, not the sunglasses. The music. I hope God has techno worship in heaven.
Thanks
love it.
was the whole day led with just loop+keys+vocals?
Thanks! Yeah, Aaron really is the man when it comes to creating and sampling loops. We only used this for one song in the service right before the teaching. It was received really well by everyone there. I’m sure we’ll be doing more of it in the future.
Amazing!!
Do you know what software he uses?
he created everything in reason. and he played the live stuff with a midi controller out of reason as well.

Awesome! I’ve always known Aaron was a great keys player, but it’s great to see he can layer some sweet loops together too. I’m a big fan!
I was at that worship service and Aaron did an amazing job. I was completely blown away at how awesome the song sounded. I love that song and he made it even better in my opinion. Do you happen to know if he or someone has it recorded with his vocals? That would be amazing..Thanks!
you got more? I want them all.
ah, sorry no more like this. hopefully more to come though soon.
